Clear Lake Community Center
What’s Happening: Bethel School District plans to transform Clear Lake Elementary into a Community and Resiliency Center using a Federal Grant and other funding. The space will support childcare organizations, City Outreach, Food for Lane County, and other groups while also serving as a hub for programs, meetings, and events that can make this a true Bethel Community Center.
Timeline: The school will officially close on June 12th. After a week for staff to clear out, renovations will begin, including roof repairs and infrastructure changes. Despite construction, childcare programs under the Preschool Promise Program, as well as Boys and Girls Club and the NAACP of Lane County will operate throughout the summer. Updates will focus on making the space more open and inclusive for community use.
What’s Next: This project will become a separate independent nonprofit, and community input is essential. Over the next few months, we’ll gather ideas and feedback from Bethel residents and local groups. Please take a moment to complete our short survey (linked below) to help shape the future of this space. With your input, we can create a welcoming and inclusive Community Center for all of Bethel.
