Happy New Year from the Active Bethel Community

As we all bring in 2025, I wanted to reach out to our community to tell you about all of the exciting things happening in our wonderful neighborhood in the coming year. From the challenges of the homelessness in our area to the Bethel Planning that will impact the next 10 years of change, 2025 is going to be an exciting time for our Bethel Neighborhood!

  • Bethel Neighborhood Planning

We continue to work with the city of Eugene to ensure that the future of Bethel follows the communities desires and wishes! We have the upcoming dates for the community to share their voices and values with city officials. All meetings happen from 6:00-8:00 at Willamette High School Lecture Hall at 1801 Echo Hollow Road.

  -January 30th Housing & Homelessness

Efforts to increase housing supply and affordability and reduce the houseless      population in our area

  -February 25th Transportation & Infrastructure

Focusing on all forms of transportation that make our area work, including

discussions of parks, open spaces, sidewalks, lighting, etc.

-March 13th OR 27th depending on space availability Sustainability

Reducing pollution, waste management, and increasing tree coverage and open       spaces.

  • 2nd Citywide Healthcare Forum

We are hosting a great followup to the 1st Healthcare forum that was put on last September discussing the lack of healthcare in our community. This is a great opportunity for you to come and find out what happened with promises made, and any progress on what we need. Make sure your concerns are heard!

-March 1st Second Citywide Healthcare Forum

Event to be held from 2:30 to 4:00. Held at WCC 2500 W 18th Ave, Eugene

  • Clear Lake Community Center

Bethel School District is unfortunately closing one of it’s schools due to decreasing student population in our area. Superintendent Kraig Sproles and the Board have chosen to take the building in a new direction as a Community Center, including things like an Emergency Gathering Location, Childcare options, Community Resources (Food Bank, City Services) and other options to strengthen our community!

-January 6th Clear Lake Discussion

Meet up to discuss this topic and get informed! Abby’s Legendary Pizza on Echo Hollow Road from 6:00 to 6:50. Topics include Community Survey and what Active Bethel Community can do to make this project thrive.

  • We Are Bethel Community Party

Bring the whole family down to Peterson Park at 870 Berntzen Road for a wonderful event filled with fun and games for everyone! Last year we had 50+ booths from our surrounding community. We all had a great time last year, and we’ll have even more booths for this year. Come down to see why we’re proud to say “We Are Bethel”!

-May 31st We Are Bethel Celebration!

We look forward to seeing you all there! Exact times TBD! Great Saturday Fun!

Make sure to reach out to us for more details on any upcoming events! We look forward to seeing you all at our events and out in the neighborhood in 2025!
