For those of you that have been paying attention to the Clear Lake Resiliency/Community center topic, here are some updates.
-As of today, 3/26/25, the funding from the EPA that was going to kick off the much needed repairs and changes to the school as part of a Resiliency Center, is still on hold. This does not mean that the grant has been canceled, or that the project is no longer going to happen. However, this does put us in a bit of a wait and see situation.
-This puts the entire project on hold, but we are continuing in our effort to turn this into something Bethel needs, a community center.
-The school is still planning to be a wonderful space for kids coming in from Preschool Promise, Boys and Girls Club, and the NAACP's efforts in the Bethel area.
-The Grant is only Suspended, that means that there has been no decision yet, and they have a year to make a decision.
-The only thing we can really do is spread the word, and contact your Federal Representatives:
