Todd is the Accessibility and Equity Specialist for Education & Health Commissioner: Oregon Disabilities Commission
Todd D. Woodward is more than just a resident of Bethel - he's a dedicated advocate addressing support for disability communities at the state level. As one of two Commissioners on the Oregon Disabilities Commission (ODC) to be appointed by our Governor from Lane County, Todd is committed to elevating critical issues facing the disability community. The ODC serves as a crucial bridge between local experiences and statewide policy, bringing together 15 passionate commissioners who understand the challenges firsthand. Most commissioners are disabled themselves, ensuring authentic representation and deep understanding of community needs. "Our mission is simple but powerful," Todd explains. "We identify concerns, publicize needs, and work to create meaningful policy changes that improve lives across Oregon. "The commission focuses on securing economic, social, legal, and political justice for the disability community. From connecting people to essential resources to advising government entities on critical improvements, the ODC plays a vital role in creating a more inclusive state. In a collaborative effort to amplify local perspectives, Todd is working directly with the Active Bethel Community (ABC) Board to create listening sessions specifically designed to hear directly from Bethel's disability community. These sessions will provide a critical opportunity for residents to share their experiences, challenges, and recommendations with someone who can carry their concerns to the state level. By partnering with ABC, Todd aims to ensure that the unique needs of Bethel's disabled residents are not just heard, but actively represented in state-level policy discussions.
