Plans are being made to set up a Farmer's Market at Petersen Barn sometime in May 2021.
If you are interested, check out the Facebook page "Friends of West Eugene Farmer's Market".
This is what the organizer, Dana Doyle posted recently:
"So were are still in the works. We are waiting to hear from the folks at the Amazon Farmer's Market. I am still shooting for a first Sunday in May as the target date. I believe to start we will just need a simple contract with a generic waiver of liability form and a few small requirements such as having a table and a canopy would be nice but I don't want that to prevent anyone from selling. I may have a couple tables that could be rented for $5 and I live on the next block so they can be picked up at my house. A list of approved products as well as some general info regarding your growing media and fertilizers used. Of course we aim for organic but the main idea is that each grower is transparent in their use of synthetic fertilizers. I am hoping they are limited. To begin there will likely be no fees but I have yet to hear from the site manager. Once we have a formal agreement with the site (city says it's a go) I will begin purchasing a few marketing materials like a large banner and some fliers to hand out. If you are interested pm me. I want 10 booths to begin. I will be one of them, so we need 9 people committed to ensure success. Ok well looking forward to this as the weather gets nicer and outdoor market is just what we need during this pandemic. Of course we will have plenty of distance between booths to ensure safety. Each vendor will also be responsible for providing their own means of accepting payment. I suggest bringing plenty of change. I will be cash only. All of this information is subject to change but this is the idea going in. Happy gardening everyone!
